In his time off, Markku likes to travel, follow trotting races, read crime novels and listen to vinyl records.
Markku holds a master’s degree in food science (meat technology) and has over 30 years of experience in the meat industry. Before Foodwest, Markku worked for a long time at the Finnish Meat Research Centre, overseeing development projects related to meat and meat products. He has also worked in the meat industry as an educator and in various specialist positions. Markku, along with Juha and Martti, is responsible for overseeing the carcass grading system in Finland.
